The big day has arrived – it’s Thornton Winter Festival 2021.
Four village organizations have teamed up to bring you an afternoon and evening of festive fun.
From 2pm today, Thornton Community Centre will be hosting Thornton Christmas Market. In the centre will be stalls selling crafts, food and gift ideas. Plus the kids can decorate gingerbread men, Thornton Community Library will be open and they will be offering Face Painting for the little ones too. There will refreshments including mulled wine, homemade soup, hot dogs and teas and coffees. At 5pm, the centre will be switching on the Christmas Lights, and the market will continue until 7pm. Plus, there’s rumours that someone with a big white beard dressed in red making an appearance as well.
The fabulous Thornton Community Choir will be bringing festive Sapgate Gardens with a performance at 5.15.
And finally, South Square Centre launch their amazing Winter Windows Trail for 2021. Pick up your maps from the South Square on Thornton Road and grab yourself a mulled wine or hot chocolate.
