TCC September Update

As a new month begins, we are pleased to welcome several of our regular classes back for the first time since March 2019 as well as something new.

Friday 3rd September sees the new Get Up and Go class start at 10am. We have received funding to run a free fitness class to try and get people, generally over 40’s but it’s open to all ages, back in to exercise after the pandemic. We’ve teamed up with Dance Factory Studios to run a six week course where you can move to the music! Also, thanks to the funding, we have teamed up with Women on the Run Thornton who will start a six week Stepping Out walking group on Tuesday 7th September. All the details are below.

We are really pleased to welcome back the team from Queensbury Community Programme this month. For several months earlier this year they ran Thursday Lunch Club from the centre. This month, they are back with Friday Friends on 3rd & The Wellbeing Café on 17th.

Sweaty Mama & Pilates have been back at the centre on Mondays for a few months and they continue throughout September, as do Thornton & Denholme Practise Champions on Wednesday mornings. Wednesday 8th September sees the return of Thornton Antiquarians for the first time since before the pandemic.

After a Summer break, both babyballet & Yoga return on Thursdays from 9th September. And finally, we welcome Thornton Community Choir back to the centre on Wednesday 15th September.

We are really pleased that after such a difficult 18 months for everyone that all but one of our previous regular classes & groups will be back at the centre after this month.

If you would like to chat to us about using the centre, then get in touch via the contact us page on this website or by emailing us thorntoncommunitycentre@gmail.com
