January Update

Happy New Year. We hope you had a great Christmas and start to 2022.

Sadly our update this month is not a positive one. Due to the increased problem with Covid, Queensbury Community Programme are unable to hold Friday Friends this week as planned. They have also had to cancel The Wellbeing Café on Friday 21st January. We are sorry if this causes any inconvenience. The team hope to back at the centre in February.

Which brings us to more bad news. When we held our Sunday Cinema in October, which was part of the Widescreen Weekend, we said that we were hoping to return with our regular monthly Sunday Cinema in February. However, due to the on going Covid situation, we won’t be able to do this. One of the main reasons is that every time we hold a cinema, we have to pay for a licence to be able to show a film, this is usually around £100. Due to the restricted amount of people who be able to safely attend, sadly it isn’t cost effective for us to do a cinema at this time, as we wouldn’t be able to cover the costs to show the film. We know this is disappointing, we are as disappointed as you are as it’s one of the events that we love to put on at the centre, but sadly, we don’t think it’s the right time for it to return.

We will keep you posted on any news regards the return of the Sunday Cinema and also any further changes to classes and groups at the centre.

Stay safe.
