February Update

Welcome to the latest update from Thornton Community Centre.

Firstly, we will be holding a Community Meeting on Monday 7th March at 6.30 at the centre. This will be a chance for us to explain what we do as a charity and also give you, as Thornton residents, to ask us any questions and give any feedback. We look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.

Over the last month or so, thanks to funding we received last year, we have been able to make improvements to areas in the village.

We had some pathing stones, a step and a new seat installed near Ellingham Court Car Park on Market Street, next to the flowerbeds. We think the area looks great now.

Elsewhere on Market Street, new pathing stones replacing some that had been stolen several years ago.

We’ve also new signs installed on the flowerbed at the junction of Market Street and Green Mount Road, and also on Market Street highlighting the Library and the Centre.

Meanwhile at the centre, we launch a new family cookery class on Saturday 26th February, with the help of the team at The Rock and Heifer. We will share more details in a couple of days.  We welcome Messy Tots as a new group on Tuesday 1st March at 12.30. You can pre-book your session now by emailing messytots123@hotmail.com. And our friends Thornton & Denholme Practice Champions launch a new Mental Health class on Tuesdays too.

Fingers crossed, we will be restarting the Sunday Cinema on 3rd April. More details very soon!
