Christmas Comes to Thornton

As November draws to a close, it’s time to get Festive in Thornton, This weekend sees the start of Christmas 2022 in the village.

South Square are holding a Makers Market with a beautifully curated selection will spoil buyers with wonderful items to buy for Christmas and beyond. It’s open today and tomorrow between 10am – 5pm.

Today also sees the start of the annual St James’ Church Christmas Tree Festival. It runs until next Saturday and will see a wonderful display of trees decorated by local groups, including Thornton Community Centre.

Tomorrow from noon, it’s Thornton Christmas Market here at the Centre. There will be stalls, refreshments and Santa will be making an appearance in time for the Christmas Lights switch on at 5pm.

And finally, tomorrow also sees the start of South Square’s brilliant Winter Windows from 4pm.  There will be the unveiling of Debs Wrekon Light Installation, Thornton Community Choir from 4pm,  Oompa Band ‘Das Funk’ from 5.15pm and of course, you’ll be able to pick up a trail map and explore Thornton
